ここでは、一番人気の「中級イギリス英語版」ではなく、「中級アメリカ英語版」の感想になります。

まだ、購入したばかりですので、最初のUnitから順番に、取り組んでいます。
このブログは、継続させる為のアウトプットの場と、させて頂いています。
私が購入した本は全文英語ですが、日本語で解説されている本もありました。

日本語で解説されているので、英語で読むと時間がかかるので、サクッと読みたい方に、お勧めです。
また、自分の場合は、意味を分かりやすくする為に、日本語でメモを貼ったりしているので、日本語版の方が安いし、良かったかもしれません。
今回は、Noun＋Preposition （reason for, cause of,etc..）です。
名詞＋forの表現
They sent me a check for ＄200.
200ドルの小切手が送られてきました。
The campany went out of business.There was no demand for its product anymore.
その会社は廃業した。
その製品には、もう需要がありませんでした。
There's no excuse for behavior like that. There's no need for it.
あのような行動には、弁解の余地はありません。
そんなことする必要はありません。
The train was late, but nobody knew the reason for the delay.
電車は遅れていたが、その理由は誰にもわからなかった。
名詞＋ofの表現
The cause of the explosion. is unknown.
爆発の原因は不明です。
Liz showed me some pictures of her family. リズは、家族の写真を見せてくれた。
I had a map of the town, so I was able to find my way around.
街の地図を持っていたので、道を見つけることができました。
The advantage of living alone is that you can do what you like.
一人暮らしのメリットは、自分の好きなことができることです。
一人暮らしには様々なメリットがあります。
しかし、同じ様な意味でも、＜There＞が付く場合は、＜of＞は使えません。以下の様な表現になります。
＜advantage to＞
There are many advantage to living alone.
＜advantage in＞
There are many advantage in living alone.
名詞＋inの表現
There has been an increase in the number of road accidents recently.
最近、交通事故の件数が増えています。
Last year was a bad one for the company.
There was a big drop in sales.
昨年は、会社にとって悪い年でした。
売上が大きく落ち込みました。
名詞＋toの表現
The accident was my fault, so I had to pay for the damage to the other car.
事故は私の過失なので、相手の車の損害を賠償しなければなりませんでした。
Did you get an invitation to the wedding？
結婚式の招待状は届きましたか？
I hope we find a solution to the problem. 解決策が見つかるといいですね。
His attitude to his job is very negative.
彼の仕事に対する姿勢は、とてもネガティブです。
また、以下のような表現も、同じ意味になります。
His attitude toward his job is very negative.
His attitude about his job is very negative.
